FLASH: Announcing Pharmacy Electronic Prior Authorization Submissions
May 28, 2024In order to streamline the prior authorization (PA) process for our providers, members, and staff, we’re making the switch from fax to electronic submissions through our Tapestry Link portal effective 06/01/2024.
Submitting the authorization request online allows you to track the status of the PA in real time. It also allows office staff to upload notes and documents quickly and easily. In addition, the online process eliminates the risk of fax transmission errors and saves you time from having to call and inquire if a PA was received and/or check the status.
The portal is easy to use. Simply visit TapestryLink to sign into your existing account or select “Request New Account” to start the registration process. Once in the portal, if you have a J Code, get started by selecting “Create Authorization” on the home screen. If you do not have a J Code, you can navigate directly to Guiding Care via the External Sites tab at the top of the screen.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When submitting the PA in Guiding Care please select the appropriate Care Setting/Auth Type.
- For self-administered medications select: Pharmacy – Medicare Part D or Pharmacy – Commercial Rx.
- For medications administered by a healthcare professional select: Pharmacy – Medicare Part B or Pharmacy – Commercial Medical.
