FLASH: Important Information About Prior Authorizations

When we migrated to our new provider portal (Epic Tapestry Link) on January 3, 2023, the process of migrating seamlessly to the eviCore and GuidingCare sites to complete prior authorizations ceased to work. We’ve been working to correct those seamless transitions and we’re happy to announce that as of today, those are now back in place within Epic Tapestry Link.

When you go to the Prior Auth Routing page within Epic Tapestry Link and put in a CPT/HCPCS code to check on the need for prior authorization, you’ll see a link to either eviCore or GuidingCare, depending on the code being checked and the patient’s health plan. You can then click the link to be directed to the appropriate website to continue the prior authorization process. When you click that link, you’ll notice another tab that will open as well. That additional tab opening had to be added to make this process work from within Epic Link.

Please note, the additional tab will not open if you access the Evicore or Guiding Care sties through the External Sites activity feature that is within Epic Tapestry Link. The additional tab will only open when accessing those sites through Prior Auth Routing.

You’ll no longer be required to go to our legacy portal (our old provider portal) to link to eviCore or GuidingCare directly.
