Flash: Important Information as the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Ends
May 11, 2023With the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) ending May 11, 2023, there are some coverage changes that are happening in relation to our plans. Please see our updated website at https://healthalliance.org/coronavirus/coverage for a complete list of frequently asked questions and updated answers for May 12, 2023 and beyond.
One item in particular is that benefits will return to normal for in- and out-of-network care (they’ll return to following what’s listed in the plan’s policies and documents).
Some other notable items include:
- Over-the-counter COVID-19 tests will be covered by most of our plans.
- Vaccinations for COVID-19 are still covered, and most of our plans have no cost-share for our members.
- If a member gets COVID-19, their treatment will be covered with the normal member cost-share.
- Telehealth/virtual visits will continue to be available for most of our plans.
Members will be directed to the same website as above and will also be encouraged to call the number on the back of their ID card if they have questions.
Thank you for your help during this time of transition – and, as always, thanks for all you do every day to keep our members healthy.
