FLASH: Skin Substitutes – Prior-Authorization Changes
October 26, 2023Health Alliance is dedicated to constantly improving its services. Therefore, our Medical Directors and coding experts conduct an annual review of all medical policies to ensure compliance with industry and clinical best practices.
Health Alliance already requires prior authorization for skin substitutes on the DME PA list. The review team has determined that application codes 15271-15278 are appropriate for being reviewed under this category and therefore will be included in the prior authorization review for skin substitutes.
Effective November 1, 2023, prior-authorization will be required for these codes.
