FLASH Update: Oxygen At Home for COVID Patients
December 22, 2020Due to the 1135 Waiver, we have the flexibility to waive the current national and local coverage determinations that otherwise restrict coverage of the home-use of oxygen for the remainder of 2020. This change will allow practitioners the option of treating their patients with home-use of oxygen during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The Medicare Advantage flexibility will be extended until March 31, 2021. In order to support our providers in discharge planning, Health Alliance™ will also apply this flexibility to Commercial Members for services rendered 1/1/21 – 3/31/21.
