ICD-10 Update The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officially pushed ICD-10 implementation back another year. According to an HHS press release, “This deadline allows providers, insurance companies and others in the healthcare industry time to ramp up their operations to ensure their systems and business processes are ready to go on Oct. 1, 2015.”

ICD-10 Transition Delayed to 2015 On April 1, President Obama signed bill H.R. 4302, enacting into law the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. The act was introduced as a temporary solution to the Medicare sustainable growth rate, but it also delays implementation of ICD-10 until October 1, 2015, at the earliest.
