ICD-10 Transition Delayed to 2015
Many of you have already heard about the ICD-10 delay that was embedded in the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. This act aimed to delay cuts in physicians’ Medicare rates, but it also pushes back implementation of ICD-10 until 2015.

ICD-10 Transition Delayed to 2015
On April 1, President Obama signed bill H.R. 4302, enacting into law the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. The act was introduced as a temporary solution to the Medicare sustainable growth rate, but it also delays implementation of ICD-10 until October 1, 2015, at the earliest.

Effective 11/29/13, the “G” (inappropriate billing/coding) adjustment reason remits to OA16 (Claim/service lacks information or has submission/billing error). In the past, when a code was denied for “G” (inappropriate coding) you would see OA125 on the remittance. OA125 (billing/submission error) was deactivated. We are working to fix this, and it should be updated by 1/1/2014.
